Wynnum & District Horse & Pony Club Inc.

Club By-Laws & Rules - Revised 2008

Membership

Any person desiring Membership of this Club shall apply in writing on the Official Form, enclosing the correct fees due.

Such application shall be delivered to the Club Secretary at least one (1) week before the date of the meeting at which such Application/s shall be put forward for election. New Members shall be admitted upon election as per the Pony Club Association of Queensland Inc. Rules.

Condition of Membership

ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP FEES as set down by the Club shall be due and payable BEFORE 31st MARCH each year. Renewal of these fees MUST BE PAID on or before Sign-On Day each year, if competing or riding at a School, on or before that date. RIDERS CANNOT COMPETE UNTIL THEY ARE FINANCIAL EACH YEAR.

ALL PARENTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE IN A WORKING ROSTER AS ORGANISED BY THE MANGEMENT COMMITTEE. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS REQUIREMENT MAY RESTRICT THE RIDER FROM PARTICIPATING IN SOME EVENTS. ROSTER WILL BE PRINTED IN THE WPC NEWSLETTER.

ALL RIDING MEMBERS UNDER THE AGE OF 16 YEARS riding at the muster or at a Competition MUST HAVE A PARENT OR NOMINATED ADULT on the grounds at ALL times, or they will not be allowed to ride that day.(as per 2008 AGM).

FAMILY MEMBERSHIP - is defined as two senior riding or non-riding members and any number of their single children still residing with their family irrespective of age.

JUNIOR MEMBERSHIP - is defined as any rider under the age of 17 years.

ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP - is defined as any rider 17 years to under 26 years.

SENIOR MEMBERSHIP - is defined as any rider 26 years and over

SOCIAL (NON-RIDING) MEMBERSHIP - is defined as any person - Junior, Associate or Senior who does not ride at all.

ANNUAL CLUB FEES FAMILY $60.00 + PCAQ Fee & Insurance per Member
  Junior $30.00 + PCAQ Fee  
  Associate $30.00 + PCAQ Fee  
  Senior $30.00 + PCAQ Fee  
  Non-Riding $10.00 + PCAQ Fee  

CLEARANCE TO JOIN ANOTHER CLUB

Members wishing to terminate their Membership must apply in writing to the Club Secretary. Terminations will only be accepted after all dues have been paid. The date on the Clearance Form will be the date the written application was received. The Clearance is binding for 6 months. Members cannot compete for their new Club until 30 days have elapsed from the date of the Clearance if the Competition is within the same zone.

MONTHLY MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETINGS

Are held at the Clubhouse on the dates as set out in the Calendar in the Club Newsletter. Anyone may attend, but at Managment Committee Meetings only Members of that Committee may vote. At open General Meetings all Financial Senior and Associate Members (who are 18 years and over) may vote.

If you are unclear about any of the Rules - the person to contact in the Club is the Secretary, whose name is listed inside the front page of the Club's Monthly Newsletter.

PLEASE NOTE: The following Wynnum & District Horse & Pony Club Inc. By-Laws and Rules are to be read in conjunction with the PCAQ By-Laws which are also included in this document.

STANDARD OF DRESS

MUSTER T-Shirt Club approved Muster shirt (Available at Club)..
  Jodphurs - Brown, fawn or any other dark colour, or Stockman cut trousers in Club colours (beige or fawn) - slim fit,Riding cut Jeans for male members.
  Helmet - White Safety Equestrian Helmet of AS/NZS 3838, EN1384 or ASTM F1163 (1.1.2004) with effective chin strap - Helmet MUST be worn whenever mounted.
  Boots - Brown, low-heeled elastic side, smooth soled Jodphur boots with or without zip. 13yrs & under 17 yrs have the same regulations for gaiters & boots as riders 17 yrs & over when competing in graded classes (official and unofficial) where the age group is 13 yrs & Under 26.
    Associates & Seniors (17 yrs & over) may wear black top boots or Jodphur boots & matching full grain leather gaiters if they wish. Chappettes with matching boots also OK at Musters.
  Pullover - Green V-Neck Pullover (some available from Club)
  Saddle Blanket - in Club colours (available from Club) or any other CLEAN Saddle Blanket.
FORMAL ATTIRE FOR RIBBON/POINTS DAYS & OUTSIDE EVENTS
  Shirt - White, long-sleeved shirt (or Wynnum Jersey or Muster T-shirt for the ODE Cross Country phase only)
  Tie - Bottle Green (available from the Club)
  Jodphurs - Fawn - OR Stockman cut trousers in Club Colours (fawn or beige)(for Gymkhanas, Campdrafting & Mounted Games only) - Must be slim fit, no pleats, no white or denim.
  Helmet - White Safety Equestrian Helmet of AS/NZS 3838, EN1384 or ASTM F1163 (1.1.2004) with effective chin strap - Helmet MUST be worn whenever mounted.
  Boots - U17yrs - Brown, low-heeled, smooth soled elastic side Jodphur boots with or without zip. If sole has textured tread it must be no more than 3mm depth with smooth border. Lace up riding boots with eyelets only (no hooks permitted) are allowed (some conditions apply as for other boots). Golf shoe style lace-ups, horseshoe ropers or similar NOT ALLOWED FOR ANY AGE GROUP .
    13yrs & Under 17yrs may wear gaiters & boots as per 17yrs & over in official and unofficial when group is 13 & U26. 13 to U 17yrs have the same regulations for gaiters & boots as riders 17yrs & over when competing in graded classes (official and unofficial) when the age group is 13 & U26.
    Associates & Seniors (17yrs & over) may wear black top boots if they wish or Jodphur boots with matching full grain leather gaiters. Chappettes must match boot colour - can only be used in Polocrosse, Campdraft & Cross Country section of ODE. NOT allowed in Formal Classes or Showjumping Classes. (As at 1.1.2007)
  Vest - Bottle Green, with white line on neck (Available from Club)
OR Pullover - Bottle Green with white line on neck (Availbale from Cavendish Rd State High)
  Saddle Blanket - in Club colours (Green & Gold Check Kersey) - (Available from Club)
  Club Badge - with or without Name Bar attached (To be ordered from Secretary)

THE CLUB IS DESIROUS that every rider have a Muster and Formal Uniform within TWO MONTHS of joining. No Member can ride in a competition without the FULL FORMAL UNIFORM.

MUSTER

In the warmer months Musters may be held on Saturday afternoons between 3pm & 8pm (Unless otherwise noted in WPC newsletter). For the rest of the year Musters are held on Sundays from 10.30am to 4pm unless otherwise noted in WPC Newsletter.

ALWAYS CHECK YOUR LATEST CALENDAR IN YOUR NEWSLETTER TO SEE WHEN THESE MUSTERS ARE ON. A PHANTOM MUSTER MAY BE HELD IN WET WEATHER. THESE WILL BE EITHER ADVERTISED IN THE Saturday's Courier Mail (under the Horses & Tack column) or MEMBERS WILL BE RUNG AND ADVISED. The Calendar will be updated monthly when information is available.

MUSTER FEES

As set down by the Committee, are payable at EVERY attendance for EVERY RIDING MEMBER or VISITOR on the day. Visitors wishing to ride at the Muster must be signed in to the "Visitors" Book by a financial member of the Club on the day. Visitors may ride at a TOTAL OF 2 MUSTERS before they make application to join the Club. It must be understood that these is NO PERSONAL INSURANCE COVER UNTIL MEMBERSHIP HAS BEEN APPROVED through the Club's monthly meeting. Also no person may ride as a Member of this Club until their membership has been approved through a Monhtly Meeting.

MUSTER FEES must be paid to the Secretary or nominated person PRIOR to the commencement of each muster.
